About Us

Helen Portelli.

     I was born in Malta, Europe and came to Canada with my parents and siblings when I was just one year old. In 1996, my husband and I decided to move back to Malta but we longed to be back in Canada. 5 years later we returned to Canada and made our home in St. George, Brant, Ontario with our two children, our dogs and cats. This is where my heart is and where my inspiration comes from.

I have been creating art for as long as I can remember. My life is all about art and music. I am a bass player/singer and I love to draw and paint. I had a dream of becoming a cartoonist in my younger days but life got in the way and art was put in the background for a while.

 For me the biggest compliment is when someone hangs one of my paintings on their wall. I am a self taught artist and proud of it. 

 My preferred medium is acrylic. On occasion, some of my paintings are done in water colours. I will probably also try my hand at oil paint at some point. For my sketches I use pencil or charcoal and I have been know to add in some pen or marker to enhance a piece. 

 Nature is my inspiration. I love to paint and draw landscapes, waterscapes, flowers, birds and animals. I prefer bright, vivid colours but I also love to use soft, muted tones.
 

Amanda Portelli

     Amanda is the oldest of my two children.  

Her paintings are mostly in acrylics but she primarily focuses on digital art. 

As a child Amanda was enrolled in art classes from the early age of 3 years old and has never looked back.

She has a certificate in general arts and a degree in fine arts and loves to draw anime characters and video game characters as well as animals (dogs and cats are her favorite.)

As a young artist, Amanda loves to experiment with new art styles and has created some exciting works.

She, like me, loves music and has a beautiful singing voice although she is too shy to let anyone hear it.
